Anyone here been to the Underground Lounge in Chicago? My nephew's band
is playing there Friday night and I'm thinking about dragging one of my
friends to go see them. The band is really good but they play around
here all the time so it isn't really necessary for us to go all the way
to Chicago to see them, but it seems like it might be fun if it's not in
a bad area or anything. So, does anybody here know what kind of place it
is? Friendly people? Kind of neighborhood? Any info would be greatly
appreciated.

can't speak with up-to-date authority on the neighborhood, but a quick
google brings up this review (sounds like it's in the Lakeview-New Town
area, which isn't too bad but does require anticrime "city sense" when out
and about):

It looks like an interesting place and the neighborhood doesn't look bad, so
I am going to try to make it up there to see them. The band, Planetary
Blues, is good (I'd like their music even if the drummer wasn't my nephew)
and I haven't seen them in a while. Should be fun. Thanks, Steve.
