This thread kinda got outta control. Also, I have a bit of a hangover.

9/11 is a difficult thing to talk about without getting really emotional. I
know I get emotional. I get angry. I want the people responsible caught
and hung from the highest gallows.

Also, It's hard to argue the official story since most people don't actually
know the official story.

Here's the official story for why the world trade center buildings fell.
FEMA calls it the "truss theory." Other people call it the "pancake
theory." You can look it up using either phrase. Also, pancaking does
happen, but usually in earthquakes, and not usually with steel buildings.
You can find examples of buildings collapsed in this way by looking around
at earthquake damage.

(ahem.)

The twin towers were constructed like a stack of pancakes, each floor
representing another pancake. These pancakes were held in place between a
strong central core, and the outer walls of the buildings. In the FEMA
model, these floors just exist like records on a spindle. They don't
provide any strength to the structure. This isn't true, but to understand
the official story we have to ignore the truth for a moment.

As the towers burned, the heat of the fire warped the outer supports. This
*does* happen in fires. According to the official story, this happened all
the way around the building. All the outer supports warped. The outer
supports moved away from the trusses which made up the floors. The outer
supports warped, and a pancake began to sag. At one magical moment a single
floor collapsed. This floor, this pancake, added weight to the floor
beneath it. The floor beneath it collapsed. Those two floors added weight
to the floor beneath them, and it too collapsed. So on and so forth.

So it was a chain reaction. Each floor added more weight, the whole thing
collapsed into a stack of pancakes.

*Why is this theory wrong?*

Well, the reason this theory is wrong is that it doesn't match the facts.

Now, facts can be manipulated and distorted, but we have some facts which
cannot ever be changed.

Take a look at these photographs, taken from a helicopter after the event.

Why are these photographs important?

Well, look at how this part of Manhattan is covered in dust. Look at the
buildings which surround the site. On the tops of those buildings, in the
dust, are hundreds of things which look like matchsticks.

Those "matchsticks" are pieces of steel which in many cases probably weigh a
ton or more.

Some of those "matchsticks" got embedded in other buildings, and left gaping
holes in building nearby. In the first photo, you even see debris on top
130 Liberty Street (the 42 story black building on the right.)

The photographs show that the buildings broke up into small lengths of steel
while the concrete was completely pulverized.

So...

Where are the pancakes?

Where are the intact floors? The intact walls? The intact spindles?

Do these photographs match the story provided by FEMA?

And what about building 7? Why did a 43 story steel building with a
different type of construction collapse in the same fashion as these giant
spindles of pancakes did? Why doesn't the official report address the
collapse of building 7?

If the building collapsed like FEMA said they did, debris (and bodies)
should have been trapped intact between pancaking floors. So why did
clean-up workers report finding few items larger than half the keypad to a
telephone?

*sigh*

Sadly, these steel beams had to have had identification numbers.

We should have been able to look at these numbers and determine the exact
trajectory of each piece of building. We should have been able to, in
essence, create a reverse analysis of what actually happened. Engineers do
that for airline crashes. They spread the pieces out in a huge warehouse
and spend years determining what went wrong.

In the case of the world trade center, this steel was destroyed. This means
that (among other things) we'll actually never *know* how the buildings
collapsed. The commission which was created to investigate the day's events
431 days after the fact did not have access to the steel. At that point,
the steel was already gone. So the FEMA theory is just that ...a theory.

The 9/11 commission had access to the same types of materials you have
sitting at your computer. Blueprints, building plans, documents, pictures,
testimonies, memories, etc. They actually had to fight to get a hold of the
blueprints. They had to fight to get the money for a partial computer
simulation. Most importantly, they never even touched any of the physical
evidence!

That's why I call the collapse of the world trade center buildings "the
biggest fiction." They were guessing. Like you, like me, they were just
guessing. Without an analysis of the physical evidence every idea is just a
theory. Without actually analyzing that steel, we'll never know what
happened.

Do you know what happened? No.
Do I know what happened? No.
Will we ever know what happened? No.

The chance to know what happened has come and gone. The chance to know what
happened has been melted down and recycled. Now, all we have to guide us
are competing works of fiction.
