Perhaps she should attend the meeting she was
invited to first, and see where things go from
there.
Exactly ... my suggestion would be to take the slot, honor the commitment to
not stir ***, but go to the meeting to speak on behalf of others who might
have been shut out by a non-random process.
She might suggest that they institute a truly random process by accepting
applications for a period of time, and then selecting children by lottery if
the number of applicants exceed the number of openings.
That is the fairest way.
