Yes. Every time that you claim that the lies and misleading propaganda
you are so fond of linking to are "in the interest of having a balanced
viewpoint", even in the face of incontrovertable evidence that they are
dead wrong factually, you give opinion equal footing with fact.
Lies and deception simply do not "balance" facts.

Deception and propaganda make for a poor diet.

We are not talking about *the truth*. We are talking about fact and
how it differs from opinion.
> and I don't belittle people who have different opinions than me!
Not even Ken Fortenberry? How about mr rapidan? For that matter,
how about me? Was that comment about my girlfriend (or lack thereof)
not "belittling"? If not, how would you characterize it?

Yes, sadly. I find that people who have very little to say often manage
to find a way to say it using a whole lot of words.
> You just happen to disagree with some of the opinions I've stated.
It's not our difference in opinion that bothers me. It's your lack of
discernment between fact and opinion, and your willingness to lend
credence to that which is obviously and demonstrably untrue.
> If I was a traditional Bush basher, we wouldn't have a problem no
> matter how big of a simpleton I was...
Again, while I do disagree with some of the opinions you have stated,
that is not the source of the problem here. The problem lies in the way
that you are willing to entertain as potentially valid that which has been
conclusively proven to be false, and in the way that you ignore the
facts that undermine your precious opinions.
An open mind is one that is willing to change, and you don't seem
open to anything that might actually inform your views. You seem
far more interested in promoting the opinions of people who have no
regard for what is true and what is not true, and who tell you the
things that you want to hear, like "you should be afraid, but we can
make you safe".

Does the phrase "American-trained Contra death squads" ring a bell?
How about "warrantless wiretaps are illegal"?
> If you want to argue a point, OK..
I think you're missing the point. It is your willing blindness to fact
that makes any argument between us necessary in the first place.

That all depends on how open your mind really is.

Oddly enough, only people like Don "Nuke Mexico" Goodwin,
DGDishonest, Hateful Narc, Chris Heresy, and that fool from
Grapefruit Ed seem to feel that way about me. That isn't a list
that you should be eager to join.

It certainly seems that your attempts to establish yourself in this group
have been largely focused around him. Isn't he the one who lured you
here from rec.music.phish with the promise of a spanking?
> I don't have to *earn* anything.
Maybe that's part of your problem.

Yeah, but you gotta go through me to get a decoder ring. If you were
paying attention, you would know that by now.

Gee, thanks for finally giving me permission to do what I have been
doing for the past FIVE YEARS. #I really needed it.#

Fault for that does not lie with me.
Perhaps you should read more closely.

I'll lighten up when you drop the bull***.

Apparently we *both* care...at least, enough to keep this conversation
going.

Have YOU ever heard of "veiled hostility"?

I have no objection to you doing as you please, but I reserve my right
to point out that it makes you sound foolish.

WIIAAHSWYP?

That has yet to be determined. So far, the evidence weighs against it.

I'm not entirely convinced that you *are* intellectually honest, either
with yourself or with others. You have shown yourself willing to be
deceptive in the past, and that is not encouraging.

Apologies to the group. Please read "most" as "several".

What gives you the impression that I respect Ken's opinion?

My sense of humor is drier than most people's. If you were truthfully
interested in knowing anything about me, that's one of the things you
would have learned by now.

What amends have you offered?

See above re: Contra death squads and wiretaps.

I don't talk a lot about things that I don't understand, granted...but I
think that humor is far better than arguing for the sake of argument.
I usually don't have to feign the boredom.
> And guess what?...Honest people can disagree!
See above re: honesty.

*blows whistle*
Improper use of the sarcastic mark. Fifteen yards and an automatic
first down.
> That does not mean I want to argue in circles with Ray for a week
All you ever had to do was answer a yes or no question he asked you.
You refused to do that time and time again, and trying to paint it any
other way now is just more deception.
> or do a research thesis for a music group. No one else has to.
More deception. Nobody ever asked you to do such a thing.
> I must have hit a nerve with you somewhere along the line.
Your lack of regard for facts accomplishes that nicely.
> You are really trying to be an ass to me.
No, I'm trying to help you to understand why I say what I say to you.
Perhaps I'm not being as gentle as you might like, but I'm not exactly
renowned for my shyness toward confrontation.
> Offline, I've been told you are a very sensitive person who won't

Somehow, I have trouble believing that.
Even if it *is* true, consider the source. Opinions are not the same
as facts, remember?

Good luck with the whole "eternal cyber enemy" thing.

OK d00d. You too.

That is convenient, because I will be out of town for the next couple
of days.

Every single day of my life, beeyatch.

I'd like to think that it's hip to me, too.

Decoder rings are only $29.99 plus shipping and handling...
