None at all. It's a bogus argument. And I'd like to see him called out
on it.

Why? He's a musician, not a businessman, a spokesperson, or an attorney.

He's really good at making funny clicking noises with his guitar, and when faced with a monsterous jam, can get out of the way before it runs him over.

He's not nearly as adept with the spoken word. He still makes the funny clicking noises, but when faced with a monsterous issue, doesn't have the skill to dodge around it.

How about:

"That is an issue that involves many people, the future of our corporation, and issues ranging from the ideals of the 60's, to the realities of law, to the complexities of emerging technologies. I realize the current change has caused some hue and cry, and I hope as we all work together, we'll find a solution that will leave the maximum number of people satisfied, and most importantly ensure that generations to come will be able to enjoy the art we leave behind in it's purist form"

I saw a couple of Bob and Rob shows back in the day, and a couple of Ratdog shows since. I've also downloaded a couple to check out his recent lineup. My conclusion? Bob has become irrelevant to me. I wish him the best, and thank him for his part in all the good times.

As for the rest of the hullaboo, it makes no difference to me. The Grateful Dead were a journey, not a destination. I spent money over the years being a part of that journey. The train reached the station finally over 10 years ago though, so I'll stop paying money now...thanks for the trip.

But if they want to continue to make money by turning that train into a museum, and people will pay money to come take a look (or listen), I don't begrudge then that.
