Soundboard availability

So, no more soundboards, eh?

I managed to download about a dozen tasty 69s, 74s, 70s, on bt-etree this
weekend--all material whose original source was straight from the archives
in the original package, so to speak.

Only things I missed were two: one was the speed. Downloads from the
archive were frequently up to ten times faster. And of course, I could
select my own shows. But new uploads were popping up faster than anyone
could possible pull them in this weekend.

Between torrents, the proliferation of personal ftp sites and
re-establishment of posted lists and this forum as a means of communicating
trades, I suspect folks can get just about anything at all that was
available on the llama. Not as convenient. But you can bring it in faster
than you possibly can listen to it.

In the recently posted NY Times article, McNally paid lip service to the
community. Which for now I am going to interpret as a positive sign that
they are not going to try to go after bt sites and people who post their
lists publicly for person to person exchanges. Not that it would do any
good to go after individuals, but that indeed would be the last straw for
most folks, I reckon.

Right now, it is difficult for me to work up much of a mad. YMMV,

Richard
