I'm noticing people going a lot slower!
Ever since the big hike in gasoline,
I am noticing people going a lot slower in their cars. I am doing the
same thing.
Me, I start slow when taking off and I am not always gunning it. It's a
little better on gas. 20 mpg @ best. I feel & see the other cars on the
road doing the same thing.
I think this is going to have a BIG impact on the way people shop and do
business and go places in the future. I can't even imagine how much it
costs to fill up a plane with fuel.
I have a friend down @ the flea market who has a step van that he uses
to go to different markets. He told me that he has a 57 gallon tank in
the truck. He said, it cost him $200.00 to fill it up with the gauge
just above E. He also said that they change the price "while" he was
filling up! The pump only went up to a certain price and then he had to
stop the pump and then start it back up again. When he stopped it,
that's when they raised the price by .25, what a rip off! There was
nothing he could do. He argued but it did no good. He get's about 10 mpg
in that thing. Uuuuughhhh.......
Gas will never come down in price, will it?
Is gasoline the analog way of driving around. Why can't there be a
digital way of driving. Is there such a thing?
The way gas is, you should only need a gallon of it to go over 100
miles. It feels like we are so far behind the times in efficiency of
good running cars.
But back to the driving slow thing,
I felt it last week when driving into work.
When taking off from a light nobody is starting off real fast.
Maybe everyone is frazzled by the hurricane in the gulf coast.
I betcha people are not going to drive any more to places they don't
have to go to.
My touring with Kimock cold be stifled.
That would suck!
Will people drive out any more?
I might have to get on the bus again!
***, I just went to Jones Beach over the weekend. I filled my car up. I
went there and back and I used 8 gallons of gas. I filled it up when I
came back and it cost me $27.00. That kinda sucks. Not to mention the
$6.00 toll and the $8.00 to get into the park. That's $41.00 for a day
at the beach! That kinda hurts. It could have been $9.00 more but I cut
through *the city* to avoid that toll. That's a pain in the ass. If I
went with someone that cost would have been cut in 1/2. But still!
Driving might get out of reach
for some people.
I can't think about how much it's gonna cost me when I drive up to
Boston.
It might be cheaper to fly?
What does gas cost on the water?
Anyone out there drive a boat?
Is there no end in sight?
As of now I keep my gas tank full. when it drops to a 1/2 tank, that's
when I fill it up again. That way it is not as painful.
I ask again, will gas go up to $5.00 a gallon? I think it has already.
Let me take it a little bit *furthur*, will gas go up to $10.00 a
gallon?
It might just happen.
There might be less traffic, right?
That is a great way to mess with the world economy! I think you might
have a hard time selling those new & used SUV's now. Who would want to
buy one?
I gotta car pool or take the bus.
I just don't know what to do.
blah. blah, blah,
life goes on, right?
booie.......
