Well... we're not married... but I'm very happy to have met my very dear and
cherished friend, Doug via LH.
One day I was looking for some Kate lyrics and I came across Byron's site. I
was so tickled. A searchable database is an adorable geek love offering to
the goddess that is Kate. An online shrine... And so generous for the Kate
tribe who have greater access to her brilliance because of it. Thank you
Byron :-)
Connected with Byron's site was Doug's website/presence which cheerfully
offered to talk about Kate to the devoted. Honestly, I was very new to the
internets at that time & had never written a stranger. I thought... what the
heck. Write a brother an email & see what happens. What happened? Nothing...
for about a year. ha ha ha ha.. Then almost a year to the day I see the
subject line "With a kiss I pass the key" arrive in my inbox containing an
earnest apology about having missed my letter & being such a slo-mo
correspondent. He offered to talk if I was still around at that address. :-)
We passed that mail back and forth for a few months until I we found out we
were going to be in New York City around the same time.
So we met up in NYC. It was a blast! We walked all over the place, dined,
drank, talked .... He was kind enough to drive me around and show me what's
up in the city- a real treat :-) He introduced me to the early Kate I'd
never heard... I couldn't believe my ears! A young Kate at the piano! We
stayed out until close to 6am when neither one of us could keep our eyes
open any more... We had as much fun 'til the early morning the next night.
We live in completely opposite directions on the eastern seabord, but when
the planets align we talk au telephone and party in Boston (where he has
again shown me lots of neat stuff :-)
Kate has put so many stars in the sky!
:-)

Hello, everyone,
I don't know how many of you were here a decade ago, but ten years ago
on March 10 I read a post on rec.music.gaffa which asked for the
music to "Man With The Child In His Eyes". I had barely learned to
use a
computer but miraculously I was able to figure out how to send back a
reply. I became "e-mail pals" with the fellow whose post I had
answered -- he lived in Norway and I lived in the United States.
Thanks to this group, we got to know each other very well online and
eventually traveled across the world to meet each other. We've now
been married 8-1/2 years and plan to make it 100 years :))) We would
never have met if it hadn't been for rec.music.gaffa... thank you,
Kate, and thank you, world :)
Lindsey :)
Hi Lindsey, & Congratulations to you & your Beloved,
Our story reads similarly to yours. I wonder how many
other SoulMates Kate has united !!
I posted to rec.music.gaffa in April 1998. I was looking
for a copy of the Cathy demos, and a person named Robin offered to
put them together for me. He lived in the West Midlands of England,
and I was here in New York State. Due to Robin's extremely polite
manner, and to the fact that most American "Robin's"
I've met are female, I was unsure as to whether Robin was male or
female , until, finally, after a few friendly email exchanges, I
asked him. (I was fairly sure by the second or third email, as I felt
strangely magnetized,
and I am as heterosexual as can be.)
Like you, Lindsey, "...we got to know each other very well
online and eventually traveled across the world to meet each
other." :) !!!!!
I will skip a great many details to make the story more brief....
Kate is our
Muse.
Robin and I were married in Dudley, West Midlands, England, on
December 17, 2001. I had been living with Rob since August 11,
2001. Our beautiful son, Leo, was born in England, November 6,
2003. In Feb. 2005, after the sale of Robin's house, we returned to
my native NY State (with British kitty, Giles Elton Taylor (aka
"GilesyCat") and we're busy setting up Life on this side of the
Sea....Who knows where Life will take us....but we know we will be
together *~*Always*~*.....100 years will not suffice! :)
I believe we are not the only Kate - Mused couples, and I hope
others will come forward and share your stories. I am grateful to
Kate and rec.music.gaffa (and Doug) every Day, as well as blame them
for all the commotion they have caused in our Lives. :)

for a Lifetime full of Love.
AND
Thank you LoveHounds
Kate, we send you so much gratitude and Love.
love to all,
Cheryl Faith
