Hi TT,
There are two ways to do this.
First way.
When you get the Big Q you will see the scroll bar at the bottom.
Wait until the grey progress bar goes goes all the way to the right
(fills up).
To the far right of that scrollbar you will see an arrow pointing down.
Click that and choose Save As Source.
You should get a dialog box asking where to save the file, and there
you go.
Second way.
Before clicking on the link to the mp3 hold down the button on your
keyboard that says Control.
In the little window that pops up choose Save Link As.
You will get a dialog box asking where to save the file, there you go.

Hey, all: I'm asking this here because you're all so damn smart.
How does one pull an mp3 off of a website using a mac? I can't
figure out how to do it. Case in point:
At www.astrograssmusic.com there's a very cool bluegrass version of
Frank Zappa's "Doreen." When you click on the link, you get sent to
a page that displays a big Quicktime Q and a scrollbar.
So far so good. However, when I select "Save As" from the File
Menu, anything I save turns out to be a Ok (zero-k) file. In other
words, the MP3 doesn't really transfer only the name of it does.
What am I doing wrong? Is there software I need?
