Re: Winamp -Listening to internet radio

Thanks very much. It isnt my cable connection. the problem is specific to
WinMedia Player.

In case anyone is interested, someone on the Freeware ng mentioned this:
=I don't use it, so I can't say how well it works, but this plugin is
supposed to help:

The ng previously mentioned is 24hoursupport.helpdesk

O.K. I understand now. It's the connection with the server that's
stopping? You may want to ask at alt.comp.freeware ng. There are
lots of
good folks there with good info, but recently there have been mucho 'new'
posters to whom you best ignore. Direct your question to Susan. If
she
doesn't respond, then one of the regulars will.

Another ng (I don't frequent often, but on occassion I do) is
alt.24hourhelpdesk ... or something like that. You probably want
something to keep the connection (are you using dial-up, dsl or
cable?) be sure to specify that.
Wish I could be of more help.

Helen

Thanks. I'm happy doing my recording with Audiograbber. It's just
that WMP occasionally times out so I dont get half of the show.
I do not see an option to play ASX with winamp. But maybe I can
search for a plug-in.

Another suggestion: Check the settings and make sure you haven't
set WMP to play ALL those files. You may want to check those
file associations in each of your players.

Get Audacity and record...then import in wav, mp3, ogg, etc. then
play it with winamp (or winMedia Classic) - non-stop.
I save several songs back to back as one file. Then play it. HTH

Hi,
I want to listen to a certain radio station using Winamp but when
I click their "listen" link it puts an asx icon on my desktop and
this only plays in Win Media Player.

I have found that WMP has a tendency to timeout but Winamp does
not. Sometimes I record a show when I go out and I do not want to
find it has timed out while I was gone.

Is there a way to convert the asx file or keep WMP going?

Thanks,
Elmira
