Let us have the enjoyment but complain in mock dismay,

Grin - I'm deliberately ATTENDING this year's CaliFur instead of working
at the con, just to get the view from the other side of the footlights
so to speak. Well, I will be in the Cabaret as usual, so I'll probably
miss the banquet-equivalent for rehearsals.
