No Dylan content - itunes assistance required

I've just copied my itunes library onto an external hard drive (I'm
using a mac), and deleted it from my computer's hard drive (the
startup disc was full). What do I need to do next? The itunes
library on the desktop is empty, and I can't seem to open it from the
external drive. Help! Thanks
