Likewise we show our faith by forgiving men their sins. "Forgive us ourtrespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us."
Dylan doesn't forgive the Masters of War. He denies them Jesus' mercy. And
according to the verses I cited, he risks his own condemnation.
Therefore, there is no reason to think that the unrepentant warmonger inMasters of War will be forgiven.
Dylan doesn't distinguish between the repentant and unrepentant -- all
Masters of War suffer the same fate. Nor does Jesus (in the gospels) say
"forgive only the sins of the repentant in Christ" as you've suggested.
Jesus says "forgive men their sins." For that matter, many Masters of War
throughout history, and in present day, have accepted Jesus Christ as the
savior, son of God, messiah, etc.
The"scripturalist" claim is untenable.
