Ok, that's your position.
But mine (so I'll rephrase the question you left unaswered) is:
are we so sure he has now found his way again?
Can't we think he *had* his way and *now* he lost it, instead?
I'm not implying anything, here, mind you.
But the point is that the very same way you think *...his marriage, his desperation ...* I happen to think of him as much darker and lost these days than back then, when he was (to my eyes, it goes without saying) at the top of his game and perfectly fullfilled as an artist.
And it makes me think whether *that* way was really so misleading.
Or if what's really misleading is the Dylan of *I used to care but things have changed*.
