I used to work at Wheaton College. It doesn't look to me like
liberalism is the target, not when Robert Schuller is banned but
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a favorite of both liberals and conservatives, is
not.
I worked at a college once... i also worked on farms, couple times as
a manure spreader. Didn't get many dates during that season.
Don't know much about what ya'll are goin' on about, but i seem to
recall that Bonhoeffer & Niemöller came together under a resistance
kind of pastorage. Both went to Camp, only Niemöller survived.
What i'd like to know is if Niemöller's sermon has been banned? It
went something like this:
}
Als die Nazis die Kommunisten holten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Kommunist.
Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Sozialdemokrat.
Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,
habe ich geshwiegen;
ich war ja kein Gewerkschafter.
Als sie die Juden holten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Jude.
Als sie mich holten,
gab es keinen mehr,
der protestieren konnte.
{
Be a shame if it were.
Full disclosure, both of my granMas were "german", family names Kuhs
und Fenstermacher; my daddy's ma is the one who made sure we knew this
quote, & she stressed the "holten" und "einsperrten" distinction. She
also fondly said "Arbeit nicht macht frei, aber die Gedanken sind
frei". If memory serves.
Gosh, i never said this. Habe ich geschwiegen.
BuhBye,
dudley
