When I wanted to mess with my mom, I would turn the flame up on the
lentil beans, so by the time she went back into the kitchen to attend
to them, they were burned. (I hated lentils). And she was always like,
"What happened to my lentils????? I thought I turned it
down!!!!!!" (Oh, believe me, it was worth it. I really couldn't
stomach that food.)
