Thnaks as always for posting a provocative subject to keep the wheel

This post, as is my wont, will ramble, digress, make little surface
sense, and at times be contentious.
Ignore, killfile, or read my esteemed associates' Rachel & j buck's
posts instead, as y'will.

I have been listening to All Along The Watchtower rather a lot lately.
And it has been puzzling me anew ...
I've memorised it, it's in god's own jukeBox.
My granma liked puzzles, including jigsaws (hear in the USofA during
the Great Depression jigsaw puzzles were a great, inexpensive
timePasser for those who could still afford 'em). She liked to work on
the sky, because it was so illDefined that only the shape of the piece
was a clue; and of course the straight edge of the top helped. She
would take her position at the top of the table, and work the puzzle
upside down.
That said, of course, this topic has been discussed before in these
parts, & i commend those who use GargleGroups to take advantage of the
ability to do a nadvanced search specific to this site for historic
references. Like thusly from '97:

Only Bob can confirm or deny that, and he ain't talkin'
I always felt that Bob himself was the joker.
The businessmen drinking his wine are those record company execs,
concert
promoters, management types, etc. who see his work as "product" and
are
trying to make a fortune off of Bob's inner feelings, dreams and
fears.
The plowmen digging his earth are us fans who try to dissect &
examine
every breath, word, and vocal nuance in his music looking for signs
of
meaning.
And, of course, none of us (along the line) know what any of it is
worth
to him.
Anyone care to dig some earth around the thief?

What i particularly liked about that thread (which doesn't mention the
oftMentioned fact that from Manhattan in NYC, we could see the
Jehovah's Witness' Big Huge Sign that said "Read Awake" under their
logoType "The Watchtower"; it might still be there if the terrorists
didn't take it out), is the reference to:

Are you sure it's not "two writers were approaching?" You can't
always go by the printed lyrics.

A furthur puzzle for the puzzler's puzzler. Elsewhere it's suggested
that the two writers were Ginsberg & Kerouac. Elsewhere, offLine &
face2face, a feller suggested to me that the two writers were Dylna &
Ginsberg: The "blowin' in the" wind began to Howl.
Or not.
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke,"
Which we're begging (or thieving) the ? here: What's the punch line?
Whose line is it? Is that the line we're (them) all along?
Enquiring minds wants to know.

(ps. This message should be discounted by American readers. It has

Ouch. This is beneath you (aside from the fact that PostScript is so
1984 that even Adobe has moved past it). This is verbal sniping that,
while like sticks & stones causes no real harm, is still violent &
points to a nuance in our Nature we needs must overCome; & we shall.
We'uns hear in Amurrrica unnastan' that our "soccer" is the World's
Fußball. & that our "Football" (NFL) has made only inroads in Europe,
while also it increases in popularity in Mexico. Perhaps because it is
so warLike sublimated, universal in its appeal.
Like chess (not the record company).
My own frame of reference: I'm for Manchester United. If'n yer not, my
Hooliganz can thrash yr Hooliganz any day now.
For the record, in the past month i've had one conversation with one
person regarding firing range. He's retired sharpShooter who still has
bad dreams over his previous kills. I've had two conversations with
five people regarding "batting cages", where zhlubs like me pay 2$US
to have a machine pitch balls to us while we take our cuts. To a man,
the most athletic included, none of us stands in the "professional
fast ball" (85mph) cage more than one turn before retiring to the
"softball" cage. At our age.
Furthur for the record, despite our current status in the world, and
in light of recent news that a) "homeGrown terrorists" plotted to
attack Ft. Dix, New Jersey, a military installation on which i spent a
significant amount of time in my Yoot, and b) Hezbollah has set up
camp in South America, intent on destroying "our" way of life:
The people of my country "are not bad, nor are they mean". I do
believe that in time, our "Way of Life" can return from its current
misdirection & get back on the track... a Land of the Free where a man
can shave his unibrow, and a woman can show a glimpse of stocking, or
hair beneath her hijab.
Hope my grandSons make it thru.
Don't know about you, but it's beautiful 'round here these days...
everything in bloom & all.

Thanks for that, Mr President.
Liked the Howl (writers, Ginsberg) idea. Also didn't know about the
NYC Watchtower. Very interesting.
Your posts are just great. The kind of thing I come here to read.
