That's a good point. But does that mean you have to accept EVERYTHING?
And is it really a good analogy? Isn't the problem with U2 that
they're a diluted, melodramatic form of what went before. Rap /
techno / whatever ... would be a better case in point. While I liked a
lot of hiphop, house and techno John Peel used to play, I catch myself
muttering in old fart mode whenever I hear tssh k-tssh k-tssh hissing
out of (teenage) people's head-phones. It has no soul (old fart
motto).
