I also grew up with early great rock n' roll. Back then I had the
older generation (big bands) constantly harping about how horrible
rock n' roll is, compared to their music. Be careful not to turn into
an old fart.
Yes, I'm well aware of the old fart problem. Being around for the birth and then the maturation of rock 'n' roll makes it hard for me to appreciate music for people who grew up in the later decades. That's why I keep trying to listen to what's going on in U2 to understand why people like this music.
Not all music is created equal. Those 50's rock 'n' rollers sound more special to me with each passing decade.
