Sure, but we must face facts. By the way, I know this has been

Is this a joke cause if it is it isn't going over well.
Why would you bring up Christian beliefs when we are talking about
Hairspray?
If you want to start another debate at least write a new post unless I'm
totally not getting you, which I'm not.
Maybe you could explain.

I think you're getting him, Barbara. Martin as sneaked in Christianity
in a side-thread about John Waters. People do this all the time. It may
surprise you to know that I never rarely start the religious threads; I
just respond to posts like this.

In fact, you've both completely misread my admittedly oblique post.
If you read back a few lines, you'll see Mr Jinx's response to a
mistype I made when I spelt him with a capital H (when referring to
Bob). We then exchanged a few posts in which I lampooned my own
adoration of Bob as a quasi religious obsession. This was intended as
irony, as I have no religious beliefs and am frankly suspicious of
organised religion in most of it's forms. That's my personal opinion,
and I fully accept everyone's right to believe what they want to. I
know next to nothing about John Waters, apart from his appearance on
The Simpsons which I enjoyed very much, and I have nothing against
transvestites or overweight people, but the facts I was referring to
was that that is how most people on this side of the Atlantic probably
remember Divine. I admit to posting occasionally non sensical posts,
because I like responding to people without composing an impressive
reposte or something similar, but I certainly don't want you thinking
that I don't have any respect. I have no reason to compare John
Waters with Jesus, or to 'sneak in' Christianity...whatever that
means, I'm not sure. I'll be happy to thrash out religion with anyone
if they care to, but I have no hidden agenda about it. Unless you
were winding me up RR, in which case - job well done.
