I suspect that Elvis Costello would win in a contest with Van Morrison for
Current Prince of Singer-Songwriters.

FWIW the July 2006 "Paste" magazine rates Costello as #8 living songwriter
and Morrison #20.
Of course, the Master of theme time himself is #1. Was there any doubt?
