What a fine show at the 9:30 Club in D.C. last nite. Jakob Dylan (Baby
D. as my wife
likes to call him) looking eerily like his dad circa 1965 with that
same hair style,
mannerisms, jaw movements and phrasing opened with just he, his
guitar, and
his synth player playing his popular Wallflower cuts for about 45 min.
I must
say chills ran down my spine when he was onstage with the spotlight
highlighting
his hair with his jaw movements, I almost felt I was again back in '65
looking at Bob.
T Bone then came out with his fine band including the amazing Jim
Keltner
(was it really THE Jim Keltner?) on drums, doing a fantastic set
covering his entire
new album, " True False Identity" with such flawless energy for 2 hrs.
and
came back for an encore of 3-4 older tracks.
If that wasn't enough, T Bone brought out the amazing and beautiful
Cassandra
Wilson to perform a new Jacob track, while T Bone snuck down to the
first row
just to watch Cassandra perform.
No mention of Bob, of course. Fellow RMDers, I'm NOT comparing pop
artist
Jacob with his dad. One is a fine young pop star, and the other is
Bob. msj
