What I do find fascinating is how different some outtakes are from the
released tracks. Especially in the lyrics. Often giant shifts in
meaning are done by changing pronouns slash/adding verses and making
verses more ambiguous. I assume most takes are done in relative
temporal proximity of each other, so these shifts are even more
pronounced in my mind.
Dylan seems to have a good writerly-way about him in not holding too
dear any passage that has been already written. (if that makes sense)
I've been playing the other outtake version of Caribbean Wind (not
the one on Biograph) and find it equally appealing lyrically. Both
versions, separately, are among my favorite Dylan songs.

I never understood why 12 or 13 songs werent included on Infidels. Why
only 8?
And Dignity and Series of Dreams should have been on Oh Mercy. Its not
like including those would have made the albums too long
.
