This particular study involved only people who had the same level of
education - they had all gone through the French school system and were
on the same level of education. The white French and the non-White
French were essentially 'equal', so it makes it particularly clear that
racism or ethnic bias is involved. The issue you bring up is separate
but certainly a factor in keeping the Arab and African population mired
in poverty.
