Yeah, and they're thinking "He's losing touch with what's important.
Something is terribly wrong with this".

For me, the look on his face in the station wagon - when the two girls
hid underneath the tarp - and they are completely surrounded by fans,
tells a similar story. There's a long shot of him without his glasses
on and you almost see the realization sinking into him that he was
about to climb to the top of the world.
