I think "North Country Blues" is one of Dylan's most under-rated songs
in this respect.
But in North Country Blues, Dylan points his finger at the reason why the people are suffering. The reason for the mine closing is outsourcing to cheap global markets. It's the same problem that's with us today.
They complained in the East, They are paying too high They say that your ore ain't worth digging That it's much cheaper down In the South American towns Where the miners work almost for nothing
