Everything. Not only bands, artists, etc. I listen to Middle Ages to
contemporary music, including Jazz, Art music, even Country sometimes. There
are some genres I don't care for, and don't actively listen to them (i.e., I
wouldn't go out and buy an album), but if I hear something I like, I like
it. So I like Machaut, Palestrina, Telemann, Haydn, Sor, R. Strauss,
Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Webern, Stravinsky, Bartok, Ligeti, and so on for
"classical" music. Then there's "pop" starting with Joplin, Gershwin,
Ellington, Cole, Davis, Yellowjackets, etc. Rock with Elvis, Beatles,
Stones, Who, Hendrix, Clapton, Yes, Rush, Zep, Ozzy, Blondie, up trhough
contemporary artists, and so on. I pretty much like a lot of diverse things,
but there are always things within those categories I don't like. Some
Scofield I care for, others I don't. Like very little Elton John for
instance. etc. I've left out hundreds if not thousands. I gave up having
"favorites" long time ago, becuase there's just too much great music in the
world (and much of it left for me to discover) to pick from. Selecting a
desert island ten would be more trouble than being on the island for me,
though if pressed I could settle.
