I always have a disconnect when hearing the Cervantes character, Don
Quixote, pronounced "Don Quick sote" rather than the "Doan Qui HO tay" I
learned in high school Spanish.

And in French it's "doan kee-CHOTE" - perhaps you should
broaden your linguistic horizons?

Why? I am retired, seldom go out, and the only native speaker of another
language I know is my physician (and she speaks English perfectly, and much
better than I could speak her native Hindi, I am sure).
