Liz Taylor? I can't stand the woman and I don't see what all the fuss
is about. So, two appropriate fingers to her! I suppose you could have
published your article using a 'nom de plume', but that's none of my
business.

I've enjoyed her movie performances, and appreciate how she put herself on the side of the angels for AIDS patients, so I'll forgive her for being more important to the TIME editors than an article that mentioned me (first name only).

Chances are, when it came out I'd have said, "See? It's about me!" and gotten a skeptical reaction anyway.

The same friend used my name and photo in an article for PC WORLD some years back, and the article was picked up as an advertising section in NEWSWEEK. If you ever chance upon the issue with a photo of a triumphant female soccer star with her jersey off, kneeling on the field in her sports bra, you can flip through and find a dramatically lit shot of me cackling over a laser disk of NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, suitable for scaring kids who won't behave.

There's also a photo (and caption) of me on the back of some issue of the comic book CEREBUS, but I can never remember which particular issue it was. 111 or something around there, I think.
