Is Moses in Hell for not accpeting Jesus

Even for you, Jeffrey, that is incredibly silly.

Why is that a silly question?

1. According to Deuteronomy 34 in the Old Testament:

-Moses died at age 120; buried by God; nobody knows exactly where.

2. According to Dante's Divina Commedia
(probably not an authoritative source, and I have read only a part of it, in
translation, many years ago):

-Mozes is in Paradise.

-If you want to meet philosophers Socrates, Plato, or Euclid, or the
musician Orpheus, or the poet Homer, you may prefer to go to a particular
place in hell, it appears (they are not being tortured, fortunately).

-Alexander the Great is less fortunate; in is hell, too, but somewhere else.

-The great Roman emperor Trajan, by the way, is in Paradise. Nevertheless,
Hell seems to be a more interesting place than Paradise.

Disclaimer: I am neither a believer nor an expert
I called Jeffrey's question silly because it partook of a particularly
tiresome sort of juvenile, 'gotcha' style of anti-Catholicism/Christianity.

You are correct that Dante is not an authoritative source :) His
placement of certain figures in certain places is
allegorical/analogical, not literal.

Hell may be more 'interesting' than Paradise, but what is on offer in
the latter, especially as one approaches the end of the Paradiso, is
infinitely, and I do mean infinitely, preferable.

No doubt you are right, ie this (especially your last paragraph) must be
what the poet intended, consistent with the Christian faith.
