You need to convert them them to JPGs.

I scan cover art to JPG at 50% scaling, 300 dpi, Compression level
about 1/3. The files come out to about 80k.

I also try and upload them to Amazon if the Amazon one is inferior.

You do a very good job of it. I've done maybe a couple of dozen;
you've done, I think, hundreds.

I've *thought* of doing it, but the legalistic verbiage and dire warnings
on the Amazon site have sent me away with my tail between my legs!

Well, they obviously haven't sued Steve de Mena into bankruptcy over it.
