The need to pair down, to simplify is a drive within that is powerful

But it's a constant urge to minimize a record collection down to those
recordings that really mean alot to me, and clearing out those which

to draw the line - but somehow necessary in ways that I couldn't

Anyone ever go through the same urge, with similar side-effects?
I need your support :)
I very rarely sell records I have actually purchased. It's quite
different when you get CDs as part of your business, of course.
Even when I decide I don't much care for a CD I keep it. If only to
remind me that I don't like it. e.g. I have lots of Yefim Bronfman
CDs. I don't like him. But I need to be sure that I have not made a
mistake, so, I keep trying them. And no, I haven't made a mistake.
This is an overrated underrated pianist. How he gets so many gigs in
New York I can only wonder at. Actually, I have my suspicions, but
I'll keep them to myself.
In any event, I keep everything.
