Classical music in the White House

In a sometimes recurring thread on classical music in
movies, or more specifically classical music recordings
in movies, I don't believe anyone mentioned Oliver
Stone's "Nixon".
Anthony Hopkins is miscast in the title role,
which should have gone to Powers Boothe,
who plays Al Haig. Nixon is shown playing the piano, but also playing
a recording of a Schubert Symphony, not one of the better
known ones, I think maybe it's the Second, but I had
trouble reading the credits to make sure.
Contrary to implicit propaganda of the current
GOP campaign, I think it's unlikely that a President
Obama will fill the White House with rap and hip-hop.
So what classical musicians have played in the White House
lately? And does Laura Bush play the piano, or is she not
of the generation or social class in West Texas where
a young girl would be expected to play?
n.b. "Nixon" is a mixed bag, a little long but well
worth watching. The flashbacks to Nixon's childhood
are very moving and well done. I wish Madeline Kahn, playing
Martha Mitchell, had more time on screen. And Stone
missed a couple of things, like Nixon in his early days wishing the
Republicans had a trickster like the Dems' Dick Tuck, and also
the story--which may or not be true--that Nixon and
another student at Duke sneaked over the transom into
the Dean's office because they couldn't wait
to find out what their grades were.
