This is a unique comparison: Boston Symphony Hall in session (empty hall)
and in concert live (full hall)
http://www.mediafire.com/?sr7fko4f2dk BSO / KUBELIK from the DG stereo
session CD, Gunther Hermanns engineer as previously posted
http://www.mediafire.com/?ihb8jmyrczm BSO / KUBELIK from live FM stereo
broadcast recorded the weekend before the above session, William Busiek,
BSO FM broadcast engineer.
Please note too that the broadcast excerpt is off air and is part of my own
BSO Concert tape library as recorded November 24,1973. (35 years ago!
Gads.) The sound of FM Stereo back then was incredibly good with exceptional
dynamics range in comparison to today's gnostic, ultra low FM broadcast
standards. The proof is in the hearing.
Comments afrom all enthusiasts are welcome.
