I realize that they were not recorded by BIS in the first place, but it
would be nice to have CD editions of your Göteborg Symphoniker and
Swedish Radio Symphony boxes, to replace the original 5-LP sets, and to
make a nice common edition with the Stockholm Philharmonic 8-CD box.
As a longtime and loyal BIS customer, I have all three, of course.
When you buy CDs secondhand do you consider those purchases as being
loyal to the label?
The BIS CDs I want almost never show up used, for some reason, so I wind up
buying them retail. Maybe I wait for a sale, but the discount is covered by
the retailer, not the label.
And besides, with a used CD, *somebody* bought the disc in the first place
and enriched the label by doing so. There's no guarantee that I would have
bought something new if I hadn't found it used. Then again, there have been
a few times when I've picked up one CD in a series used, and liked it so much
that I then bought all the others new.
Probably 1/2 to 2/3 of my purchases are secondhand (including that
Stockholm Phil 8CD set which has a defective CD #8, darn).
Well, you have the opportunity to ask for a replacement.
