szpak44@xxxxxxxxx appears to have caused the following letters to be typed in
news:0d10685c-8084-441c-a4c2-de475ce828e9@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:
George Rochberg, Piano Quintet (1975), Nonesuch N-778011, 1981,
recorded in New York in September and October 1980 by the Concord
String Quartet (Mark Sokol, Andrew Jennings, John Kochanowski, Norman
Fischer) and Alan Marks.
There are three parts and seven movements: Introduction, Fantasia,
Fugue-Scherzo; Sfumato; Little Variations, Molto allegro con spirito,
Epilogue.
I transferred it from a neat copy (acquired from Steve Vasta),
declicked and somewhat intrusively denoised in Amadeus. Encoded in MP3
at bitrate 256. The dynamic level of parts 2-3 (side two) is fairly
consistent, but the middle movement sounds nothing like pppp that the
sleeve notes suggest.
Matthew promised his transfer of this piece a good while ago. In the
meantime, mine will have to do.

Enjoy!
Thanks! I'll give it a listen and compare it with mine, which is still all
in a single track. If I had a score, I could divide it into movements, and
then post it.
