Montgomery's victrory was made moot, as far as Eurpeoan Jews were
concerned , by the actions of The House of Commons

I said earlier, you seemed a reasonable sort. I am not agreeing with
Jeffrey remotely to the extent of guilt he assigns to the British. However,
you might be a little more open minded. The quote I included, if accurate,
shows that at the time some of your countrymen were aware of and concerned
about the possible consequences. Do you deny that?
