Yea, I mean its kind of grey looking I guess. I have always
preferred sites with flashing ads and neon colors. They make it
stand out better. What is it that you didn't like?
I prefer san serif fonts on white background.

Probably one of the few things I like about the new site is the
keyword highlighting. That makes it really easy to find what was
matched in the search. The old site made searching a painfully
time consuming experience. I mean, you had to do it one page at
a time, rather than all the options that you are given now.
Either way, I guess I will trade better usability for boring
colors.
The search looks identical to me except for an option to limit the
search to back in stock titles or not see "featured items".

That page is not what I meant. When you receive results, you are
given better controls to navigate them, unless the amount found is
less than or equal to the total amount found. They probably decided
to stay with an identical search form because if they went too far
from the original design people would be jumping out windows
because it was different, from my observations. And I mean,
remember a few years ago when people had trouble simply logging in
on the old site? I honestly do not know why everyone thinks the new
site is so bad. If the new site looks like it is from 95, what did
the old site look like? A preschool morning class project? Or did
the random assortment of colors and rainbow-colored record give it
that futuristic look?

And if it looks so darn ugly, why does it look identical? Are you
calling the assumed-to-be-better old version ugly too? I mean, I
really want to understand what it is that you hate about the new
site so much. Hell--even better than us sitting around and being
like "oh! I don't like the site, oh dear!"--why don't we just send
emails to the tech support and tell them exactly what we do not
like--then they might actually do something about it. They are not
psychic unfortunately.

I can say it again if you missed it the first time. San Serif text on
a white background is easier to read than the colors and serifed text
they are using now. I don't think I am the only one who doesn't care
for the new site. There was also subtle uses of color to differentiate
different aspects of the listing. One look at their developer's web
site should have made them run to another developer:

Those navigation numbers at the bottom of the page of search results
is something I have NEVER seen anywhere before, probably for good
reason. Normally you have a list of page numbers, like 1-2-3-4-5.
They have something "clever" like "1-25" "26-49" etc. that I haven't
seen anyone do elsewhere.

It seems that Mr. fnanuggett does not see the ugliness and that he only sees
functionality.
In that case discussing about the ugliness could be something like talking to
ansimaniac about the ugly sound of his 'fixes'.

First, it is Nanugett. One G. Call me Fred. I do not call you by a
name which is not yours. Return the favor. Thank you in advance.

As for the site, I honestly do not care about it, or how it looks. I
was just sharing what I thought of it. I go on, get what I need, and
get off, I seldom even go to it except to look for good deals when I
have to buy gifts for people on holidays or similar occasions.

You lost me on the last sentence Steve, I never heard of an ansimaniac
before. Is it some kind of disease?
