I don't agree with this, why would they do this?
Because they want to turn a profit.
I mentioned, over 90% of
them is not making turntables or have anything to do with analog. First that
comes to my mind was that on one recent fair McIntosh had their gear
showcased with VPI HR-X turntable and hidden Audio Note AN-S8 MC step up
transformer. Why would they do this, when they even have their own CD and
SACD players of top class. Because their main market is amplification and
they do not risk with sound on such fairs. Why wouldn't they make
*perception* with digital? I don't see the link.
There are a lot of people out there who like to be called
"audiophiles", and the surest way to gain that "prestige" is to prefer
analog to digital.
