That's because by and large, the people who are into vinyl tend to be
people with vast amounts of cash to spend on analog rigs - because in
order to get decent sound from vinyl, you need plenty of cash.

And, let's repeat, the only
thing they care about is money, they are not on the mission :). And the
thing that sells their stuff is good sound.

No, what sells their stuff is the *perception* that it's providing
good sound.

You need to understand that people on this NG are far more interested
in the music than they are in achieving that last bit of sonic
splendor. They don't really want to spend 10 minutes cleaning an LP
side in order to play 20 minutes of music. Nor are they going to
spend thousands of dollars on turntables and and tonearms and
cartridges, when that money can be spent on music. Nor are they going
to spend premium prices on vinyl when the same music is available on
CD.

Everyone has their own mishegas...
