I do not have a score , and appreciate your insights, but "mangled" with
Vernon Handley ?! Elgar is in the Brahms tradition, but the Violin Concerto
seems a more expansive,colorful work in the spirit of the 2nd Symphony ?
I had Nigel Al-Kennedy's two recordings of the work, and listened to each
once. But lately I got rid of both of them, for pretty much the same reason
I got rid of the one recording (a Handel work) I had by Emma Al-Kirkby.
