Not correct. Most card readers (not all) do not require software -- and if
they do, it's installed once and forgotten. Once the card is inserted, it
looks like any other hard drive than can written to or read from.

No "import" software is needed. You just tell eBay where the file is, and
eBay copies it to their site. You can make minor adjustments to contrast and
brightness. It's a completely trivial no-brainer.


You might want to look at VueScan, a popular 3rd party scanner app.

I'll give the demo a try. But it'll have to be awfully good to justify a $40
purchase.
