Once again, thank you so much for all your trouble and patience with me, very much appreciated.

play them
It is obviously too late now, as you have discovered that Winamp (or the latest version) does play .ogg files without any problem. I clicked on the .ogg file for each movement and WinAmp automatically fired up and played the file.
There is available a codec that will enable Windows Media Player to play .ogg files. I've downloaded and installed it, but maybe I need to inform WMP about it, or shut down the computer and do a restart?
Thanks for letting me know that WinAmp can burn the files to disk, but surely not as .ogg files? Maybe WinAmp converts them to mp3, as .ogg is a sort of an mp3 equivalent, although apparently slightly superior.

It converted them to Winamp media files but before that I think I unzipped them. It then burnt them to audio disk and I have now got a copy I can play on my CD player and hopefully send a copy to the friend who asked me for it in the first place.
I think the performance sounds tremendous but I am puzzled at the sound of the strings which seem to override the rest of the orchestra and are rather shrill. It is a live performance and I cannot judge is this because of the way I unzipped the files or indeed downloaded and converted them or is that the correct sound on the recording. At this stage of course it would be a help to hear the original disk, something I can't do but thought I should run this past you.
I intend to look up a review of the recording in case you don't have time to answer the above, with thanks again.
WinAmp burnt the .oggs onto CD for me, and looking at the files on the CD, they are .cda files, which play on Windows media Player.
As for the strings, Celi always places great emphasis on his strings. In short, and in line with one of the reviews (link given by Rugby), this is definitely the greatest Sibelius 5th I have heard. Absolutely thrilling.
Many thanks.
