I just googled the newsgroups looking for articles on "newsgroup
flooding". One thread in news.admin.net-abuse.policy entitled "Ongoing
flood attack against sci.crypt" indicates that the sci.crypt newsgroup
has been the recipient of a high-volume of these messages, and that they
are now being cross-posted to these other groups (lucky us!). The random
nature of the subject and text makes them difficult to filter out. I
haven't found an effective remedy yet.

This is where the spam is coming from. I anybody is close to that place,
they may try to give a call to one of the people, listed below.

Appropriate, somehow, to learn that the one doing it is a Cretan!

Turn him in to his professors. Or just find the University's website,
harvest the names of a couple of dozen faculty members, and inform all of
them of what he's doing. It's bound to get him called on the carpet.

If possible, put his email address on as many mailing lists for Turkish
websites as you can. Greeks and Turks -- they don't get along real well.
