I suppose you never head of liberals accusing conservatives who oppose, say,
minimum wage legislation, of being insensitive to the needs of the poor, in
bed with big business, etc, etc. Never for a moment allowing that opponents
might be just as motivated to help the poor as proponents, but simply
believe that the unemployment that minimum wage legislation causes
(concentrated, of course among the poor and minorities) is worse than the
"cure."
