It's fair to say that this newsgroup has declined in the recent
months, and this is sad for me since RMCR is an invaluable source of
information and occasional friendships. While we've lost some key
contributors, and while the threads are littered with spam, OTs, and
downloads, when an interesting thread does begin many of you come out
of the woodwork and offer the insight and passion that has made this a
great place for more than 10 years.
Perhaps a partial solution is for each of us to regularly post new
topics? If this group dies it will be due to neglect, not lack of
interest.

Part of it lied in the lack of new blood.
Whenever someone joins in, they are often treated
with disdain if they don't immediately show they have
the musical knowledge shared by others in this group.
I suggest that when someone new logs in, we welcome
them and answer their questions instead of shrugging
them off.

Unless he reveals themselves to be politically conservative, in which case
no such consideration need be given.
