Ok so I should not have put on my EBAY listings here

That is correct.

as it upset some of you BUT to make up for it I went out and doing in
my best records collector style found these gems ALL ARE CLASSICAL OF
SOME KIND!!!!

None of them are any kind of classical whatsoever (apart from what
probably is a pop arrangement of a Johann Strauss II waltz).

(snip)

Matthew is correct. Except for that title, this is not classical music.

But even that title isn't, really; it's a pop tune with a "borrowed" them.
Its relevance to classical music is slim to none.

I realize of course that my post is an exercise in futility, as the spammer
will not comprehend that he has done anything wrong; they rarely do. I've
already put him into my killfile, because I know from long experience what
his response will be:

Whining. (Like that will make people want to buy from him.)

"But some people in this newsgroup might want to buy them!" (And some people
in this newsgroup might want to buy cars, but that doesn't mean "for sale"
ads should appear here.)

Ad hominem arguments and personal invective against me, and perhaps, if the
spammer has followed the links to my website, against my appearance. (Hey,
if I'm unattractive to a dumb spammer, I'm very glad indeed!)

And lots more idiocy such as the above. Yesterday I was cleaning out some
old bookmarks, and I found an exchange from 2001 in that cesspool that is
rec.music.opera. Some guy had tickets to a "Ring" performance in Seattle
that he couldn't attend. He offered them for sale at a big markup, and when
that didn't bear fruit, he posted again and again and again, lowering the
asking price each time. This earned him hooting remarks from many posters.

Evidently he was near to a deal when I provided a link to an anti-lawyer rant
he had posted in another newsgroup. He flew into a flaming rage, said he was
having me investigated by the FBI, and then (as a sock puppet) claimed that I
was about to be subpoenaed in a legal matter. Needless to say, these things
never happened. Well, actually, an FBI Special Agent did take my photograph
-- but he's a friend, and it appears on my home page. ;--)

Anyway, that's an extreme case, if an amusing one. But still, my philosophy
is that you've got to try to pull weeds, or else you'll be overrun with them.
