This is a real question, to which you have consistently avoided
giving an answer.

What is your system? We know that Szell liked highs boosted because he listened to approval copies on a severely compromised system (speakers on the floor or peeking out from under a couch, I seem to remember reading). Since you are the only one here who has the issues you do, it is more reasonable to assume that the problem lies with your system or your hearing, not with the equipment or ears of the rest of us.
