Ward Marston is working on the Mozart Requiem for Naxos.......it's a
problematic recording, but those on the fence who want to wait for his
shot at it, there it is.
It came out a few months ago. I love the performance, even though it is as
unidiomatic a Mozart performance as you could imagine. As a performance of
19th century Italian opera, however, it is thoroughly idiomatic. The Naxos
transfer is likely as good as we're ever going to get, period.
Note that it is suppressed from publication in the USA. Heil Bainwol!
