I once read in a UK interview that he played Prokofiev 2nd cto but not
the first, the Szymanowski 2nd cto but again not the 1st - and that he
had no interest in playing Bruch. He may have been the only violinist
- apart from perhaps Gidon Kremer - who did not play Bruch.
